The Kight Center For Emerging Technologies
The Kight Center for Emerging Technologies has earned a national reputation for highly innovative instruction in evolving technologies and cutting edge virtual learning environments for online learning and blended (web-enhanced) face-to-face classes. The $20 million Center positioned IRSC for recognition as the Number One college in technology in the United States three years in a row by the Center for Digital Education and American Association of Community Colleges.
The Kight Center houses two virtual studios with green screen technology. Students in the Digital Media Institute develop expertise in the latest industry standard software in the state-of-the-art MAC lab. Network security and web development are the focus in the Cyber Security Institute, and the Advanced Manufacturing Suite and Photonics Laboratory create a unique environment for study of robotics and light and laser technologies.
The Kight Center connects the IRSC Main Campus to the College’s four branch campuses through interactive live television and is fully equipped with Smart Boards and presentation technologies for meetings and conferences.
