Institute For Academic Excellence

About Us

IAEThe Institute for Academic Excellence is charged with creating a culture of academic excellence on our college campuses. The Institute is located in the Kight Center in room V-125 and works in partnership with the Employee Development Program (EDP) and the Virtual Campus.

Faculty Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) within the Institute continually review the literature for evidence-based research on communication, critical thinking skills, online teaching & learning, research and assessment, student reading, and teaching & learning. A sixth PLC develops support systems for faculty publication. A seventh community identifies and engages in service-learning activities. The findings of these PLCs are shared with all faculty members through a variety of means including a website, colloquia, presentations, conferences, reference lists, and demonstrations. Please view our photo gallery of events with facilitators and participants.

All faculty members are encouraged to participate in the Institute for Academic Excellence and pursue personal interests, especially in collaboration with others. For more information, please contact Jodi Robson at 462-7532 or
