STUDENT SUCCESS PLAN

Assigning an Advisor

One of the purposes of Instructional Advisement is to establish a personal connection through the collaborative creation of student success plans that support student educational and career objectives and lead to program completion.

At IRSC all degree-seeking and dual enrollment students are assigned an advisor once all transcripts and supporting documents are received. Advisor assignments are based upon the campus selected at the time of application.

Students can identify their academic advisor by logging into the MYIRSC page and clicking on the Advising link.

Creating a Student Success Plan

The creation of a student success plan is one of the most important requirements of New Student Orientation. This should be completed early within the first semester of enrollment. Registration for subsequent semesters may be prohibited for students who have not completed a student success plan.

A student success plan provides students with a semester by semester outline of courses required for degree completion. This plan can be used to search for available classes during online registration.
