Men's Basketball looks to repeat successful season

The IRSC men’s basketball team is coming off a very successful season in which they ended with 22 wins, 7 losses, a Southern Conference Tournament Title, and a berth in the NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA state tournament.

The Pioneers return 6 players to the 2012-2013 season, with only 1 returning starter. A class of 3 freshmen and 3 new additions make up an incoming recruiting class with high expectations. The Pioneers lead the state in scoring last season, averaging a blistering 82.1 points per game. An experienced inside core, and a perimeter game that looks to be improved, the Pioneers are looking for some inside/outside magic that can lead to another successful season in one of the toughest conferences in the country and a trip to the NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA State Tournament. “My expectations are running high with the returners and newcomers, which should provide us with a strong offensive and defensive game.” Says Head Coach Joe Sanchez. With the new renovations of the IRSC Gymnasium, the Pioneers are hoping to continue to provide an exciting brand of basketball to keep our enthusiastic crowd pleased.
