Login to Databases and Ebooks

To access the library databases, you will need a Borrower ID and PIN. Your Borrower ID is your student ID number. Your PIN is the MMDD of your birth. For example, if your birthday is July 31, your PIN is 0731.

To access the library databases, you will need a username and PIN.  Your username is your employee PID.  Your PIN is the MMDD of your birth.

Community Members:

Please visit the Florida Electronic Library for access to databases. Your public library card number enables your access to many databases.

How to Log-in to Databases

If you are having difficulty connecting to the databases, one of the following explanations might help you to determine the reason:

  • Are you inputting your Social Security number, phone number, FAU barcode number, or local public library number? If so, input your IRSC Borrower ID and PIN.
  • If you are not currently enrolled as a student at Indian River State College or employed by the College, your library Borrower ID is not valid for database access. You may change your status to a community borrower. Your Florida public library has access to Florida's Electronic Library, as well as its own selection of resources. Contact your local library for more information.
  • Are you attempting to access the databases through an AOL connection? If so, minimize AOL and open Internet Explorer.
  • Do you have a firewall on your computer? If so, you may wish to temporarily disable the firewall while you log in to the databases.
  • Are you accessing the Internet through Netscape? If so, you may wish to download Internet Explorer as the databases seem to work better through Internet Explorer.
  • Disable any popup blocking software.
  • Is the Security level on your computer set too high?

If you are still having difficulty logging in, contact the library or email
