WYATT DEIHL OF OKEECHOBEE
NAMED 2017 COCA-COLA LEADER OF PROMISE

Wyatt Deihl, an Indian River State College student, has been named a 2017 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar and will receive a $1,000 scholarship. An Okeechobee resident, Deihl, 20, is President of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society at IRSC.

The Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship helps new Phi Theta Kappa members defray educational expenses while enrolled in an Associate Degree program. Scholars are encouraged to assume leadership roles by participating in the honor society programs and are selected based on scholastic achievement, community service, and leadership potential. Nearly 1,000 applications were received, with 207 PTK members selected.

A 2016 graduate of Okeechobee High School, Wyatt Deihl is pursuing an Associate in Arts Degree at IRSC with the goal of attending law school. His ultimate career goal is to teach law at the university level.

“I am elated about getting this scholarship,” Deihl said.
