HOLIDAY SHOWS AT IRSC YOU CAN
CELEBRATE THE SEASON WITH

2017 Holiday Shows

Celebrate the season at Indian River State College enjoying a memorable holiday performance. From seeking a celestial star at the Hallstrom Planetarium to the “Holiday Music Concert” featuring IRSC Performing Arts students at the McAlpin Fine Arts Center there is a show or performance or concert that will invite guests to join in the spirit of the holidays.

Star of Wonder, Dec. 1, 2 and Dec. 8, 9: A holiday favorite, “Star of Wonder,” celebrates its 25th year recreating the skies as they appeared 2,000 years ago. Viewers will trace what may have been the path of the mysterious star followed by the Wise Men, showing the constellations and the locations of planets. “What was it in the sky that compelled the Magi to embark on a journey of hundreds of miles across desert and mountains?” asks Jon Bell, Hallstrom Planetarium Director. “This program will bring the audience one step closer to understanding.” “Star of Wonder” shows are Dec. 1 and 2 and Dec. 8 and 9, Fridays at 6 and 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 1 and 2:30 p.m. Tickets for “Star of Wonder” are $5.

Holiday Music Concert, Dec. 8-10: The IRSC Vocal Program, under the direction of Dr. Daile Rieth presents the “Holiday Music Concert” featuring seasonal musical selections including classical and popular seasonal favorites and featuring a variety of vocal ensembles. Shows are Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 9 and 10 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 or $10 for season subscription holders.

Yuletides, Dec. 9: Enjoy the concert “Yuletides” featuring songs of the holiday season with the live electronic music of world-renowned composer and artist Jonn Serrie under the planetarium stars as Hallstrom Planetarium Director Jon Bell projects special effects of stars and stellar beacons on the planetarium dome - all choreographed to the music. “Yuletides” will be presented Dec. 9 at 4 and 7 p.m. Tickets for the show are $12.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.irsc.edu or at the box office located in the McAlpin Fine Arts Center lobby on the IRSC Main Campus at 3209 Virginia Avenue in Fort Pierce, Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., or by phone with VISA, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.
