| Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements: |
| The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include good reading and writing skills; ability to write legibly; ability to perform repetitive tasks with patience; ability to work well with a diverse student population; ability to work independently as well as with others and be self-motivated; well-developed interpersonal skills; and good judgment. An Associates Degree is preferred. Basic typing skills are also preferred. |

| The essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: assisting students with disabilities in completing academic assignments outside of classes, by writing down or typing verbatim what is dictated and by reading textbooks or assignments. |
| Specific Duties and Responsibilities: |
| The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: assisting students with disabilities in completing academic assignments in or outside of classes, by writing down or typing verbatim what is dictated and by reading textbooks or assignments; transcribing essays and homework assignments; reading textbook syllabus, class notes, and homework assignments; and other related duties and/or responsibilities as assigned. A Scribe Reader is not allowed to perform the duties of a test proctor. |
| Essential Physical Skills: |
| This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College. |
