With Doctorate degree: $566/credit hour
 
Hours:The hours are based on class schedules, up to a maximum of 20 hours per week.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements:
The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include:
1. Minimum of Masters degree from a regionally accredited institution in mental health counseling, counselor education, guidance, social work, psychology or a closely related field.
2. At least three years of post Masters level proven work experience as a practicing psychotherapist.
3. Current knowledge of the human services field including major treatment modalities, instructional techniques, and computer skills related to courses taught.
4. Ability to facilitate in-class skill-building exercises based on simulated scenarios.
5. Proven ability to work with others.
6. Ability to recognize and respond to students from culturally diverse backgrounds.

All instructors must meet the appropriate credentialing requirements for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
The essential job functions and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: preparing, instructing, and grading all coursework in the assigned classes; assigning final grades; and recording attendance.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
1. Preparing course materials, class lectures, and in-class skill-building activities.
2. Evaluating student progress through examination and assignments.
3. Evaluating student practical skills.
4. Actively supporting student success through academic advising.
5. Participating in any required department, division, or adjunct faculty meetings.
6. Maintaining an active program of professional development related to individual, professional, and institutional needs.
7. Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Physical Skills:
This position requires an ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time and to present oral lectures/demonstrations, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. Some lifting of computer and electronic equipment may be required. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
