| Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements: |
| The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include a Bachelors in a health profession and Masters degree (preferred in field); four (4) years of verifiable teaching experience and minimum two years work experience in health profession; familiarity with project-based learning and assessment techniques utilizing multimedia; knowledge of best practices in education for high school and college level courses; a proven track record of effective teaching methods and procedures; documented success with integrated curriculum teaching; a willingness to apply technology and innovative approaches in the classroom setting; an understanding of learning-styles theories; ability to implement a supportive student environment; committed to increasing student achievement through contextual and applied curriculum; an understanding of work based learning; and expertise in the instructional field. All instructors must meet the appropriate credentialing requirements for Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) accreditation. |
| Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: |
| The essential job functions and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: Planning and providing top-quality instruction in the health science to 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students; preparing, instructing, and grading all class coursework; assigning final grades; and being available to meet with students. |
| Specific Duties and Responsibilities: |
The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
1. Teaching in a manner that assists high school students in meeting rigorous instructional standards;
2. Appropriately integrating computer software and technology-based instruction;
3. Maintaining a safe and effective classroom environment;
4. Administering learning-style assessments and applying results;
5. Applying the Sunshine State Standards, curriculum frameworks, and course student performance standards in planning effective instruction;
6. Applying standards of instruction in Dual Enrollment classes as in all other college classes, including academic practices and collegiate learning environment;
7. Utilizing all available data including achievement and assessment test results, progress tests, daily assignments, teacher observations, past performance and other available information to plan instruction and evaluate student performance;
8. Determining student grades and following established school procedures for reporting and recording them;
9. Helping high school students acquire study skills and self-discipline needed to complete their studies successfully;
10. Providing appropriate accommodations for exceptional students;
11. Assisting in the collection of student data;
12. Reinforcing reading and writing skills throughout the curriculum;
13. Maintaining a comprehensive plan for self evaluation and improvement of instruction;
14. Maintaining accurate records;
15. Complying with all reporting deadlines;
16. Work with the CALC staff and administration to assure maintaining accurate instructional plans and complete course outlines that reflect the Sunshine State Standards and are in accordance with the standards of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools;
17. Displaying an appropriate and supportive attitude towards students, colleagues, supervisors, and the community at large.

| Essential Physical Skills: |
| This position requires an ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time and to present oral lectures/demonstrations, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. Some lifting of computer and electronic equipment may be required. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
