Donna-ArnoldProfessor Arnold holds the rank of Associate Professor in the Business Administration and Management Department, and Adjunct Professor in the Economics Department, at Indian River State College. She teaches a wide variety of business and economics courses, specializing in Internet courses.

Professor Arnold was graduated from Indian River Community College, and went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree in finance, and a MBA (Master’s Degree in Business Administration) from Florida State University. She also has completed one year of course work towards a Ph.D. in finance and economics from Florida State University. Professor Arnold has taught at Florida State University and Indian River State College for a total of 28 years. Her business experience includes employment with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith as an Account Executive (Stockbroker); a Researcher for a successful hedge fund; and as a Financial Consultant for an accounting firm.

Angie-BaileyDr. Bailey received an Associate’s Degree in Education & Theater Arts, BS in Liberal Arts, Master Degree in Business Management and her Doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership in Management. She has a background in developing programs, grants, reviewing contract deliverables and policies. She has experience in collaborating with Children’s Mental Health Services, specifically including individual, group and family counseling, assessment, case management and judicial/community advocacy. In addition, Dr. Bailey has an extensive background in planning, organizing, grant operations and funding, staff advancement and training, and organizational programming.

Ray-CarpenterRay Carpenter received his B.S. in Accounting from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh and M.B.A. from Florida Atlantic University. He has worked in accounting and financial management for diverse companies in healthcare, banking and the utility industry. He belongs to the Honor Societies of Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Gamma Sigma. He also has been awarded the Marilyn C. Link Endowed Teaching Chair in Financial Management.

Ron-CarlsonDr. Carlson received his Doctorate in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University His dissertation was on Measuring Firm Stock Performance from Mergers & Acquisitions in the Aerospace and Defense Industry. He received his Master’s in Business Administration from Barry University and his Bachelors of Science from Barry University.

Before entering teaching Dr. Carlson directed Global Business Development for Honeywell and Rockwell which included strategic partnerships, joint ventures, mergers & acquisitions, marketing, sales, and program management. This encompassed structuring and negotiating business contracts on six continents requiring travel of around seven million air miles. Prior, he spent nine years in Europe (4 years in Germany and 5 years in the United Kingdom) as an expatriate responsible for business development and customer service, covering Europe, Africa, and the Mid-East. He is also a commercial pilot and was a maintenance test pilot. He is licensed by the Federal Communication Commission as Chief Engineer for telecommunications broadcast stations including television, and has served as Chief Engineer for an FM radio station.

Arleen-GreenS. Arlene Green received her Associate of Arts from Indian River State College, her Bachelor's degree from Barry University, and her Masters in Business from Florida Institute of Technology. She taught Business classes at Barry University for 5 years and has been at Indian River State College since 1995. She became a full time instructor at IRSC in 1998. She was awarded with the Dan K. Richardson Endowed Teaching Chair in Entrepreneurship for years 2004-2006 & 2012-2014.

Frank-HarberDr. Harber, department chair of the Business Management Department, received his A.A. degree in Business Administration from IRSC, a B.P.S. degree from Barry University, a Masters of Business Administration degree from Florida Institute of Technology and his Ed.D. from the University of South Florida in Tampa. The instructor was awarded the Marilyn C. Link Endowed Teaching Chair in Financial Management for 2005-2007. He has been a marketing director for a Savings and Loan, owned an Advertising Agency, and has been the National Accounts Manager for a newspaper.

James-HowseJames Howse, Assistant Professor of Accounting at IRSC, received his B.S. degree in Finance from the University of Florida and a Masters in Taxation from Florida Atlantic University. He is presently completing a Doctorate in Organizational Management from Capella University. Prior to employment at IRSC, he taught at Florida Atlantic and held various positions in banking and finance with such companies as Barnett Bank, Great Western Financial and Dean Witter.

Don-LucyDon Lucy, Assistant Professor in IRSC’s Accounting Department, received a BSBA in Industrial Relations and Business Management and an MBA in Accounting from Seton Hall University in New Jersey. He was a corporate accountant in industries as varied as heavy construction, shoemaking, industrial research and furniture manufacturing. He worked as a business consultant in England, and he earned the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation from the Institute of Management Accountants. A Vietnam veteran, he has been active in veteran’s issues and founded a veteran’s reunion organization. He has been teaching at the college level since 1986 and has served as editor of numerous accounting texts and author of “Reminds Me Of A Story...”

Chris-McChesneyDr. Chris McChesney received his B.A. in Sociology from the University of Colorado, Masters in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver, and Ph.D. in Business Administration from Northcentral University. Before entering teaching, he owned several businesses and worked in the Communication, Real Estate, and Consulting fields.

Ann-McMullianDr. Ann McMullian is a professor of agriculture at Indian River State College. She started at the college in 1990 and since 1993 she also serves as the department chairman of the Agriculture Department at the above named college. The Agriculture department includes 3 A.A.S degree programs: Agriculture Production Technology, Landscape and Horticulture Technology, and Golf Course Operations. Dr. McMullian received her Master’s and Ph.D. in animal science from the University of Florida, Gainesville. Since then all of her post doctorate work has been in Horticulture and Biology at the University of Nebraska at Kearney and the University of Florida. At IRSC Dr. McMullian counsels agriculture and horticulture students, oversees all Agriculture programs including the Aquaculture program, and teaches a variety of Horticulture and Biology classes.

Jill-NovakDr. Novak of the Business Management Department received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Flagler College. She completed her Masters in Business Administration from Pace University in New York City. She completed her Doctorate in Business Administration and Marketing in 2008. Her past employment consists of for profit and non-profit organizations, including marketing assistant for GE Appliances, teaching at Texas A&M University and the University of Phoenix along with various other business related experiences. Dr. Novak also serves as Secretary of Sigma Beta Delta, the Business Honor Society.

Michael-PlattMichael C. Platt is in his fifteenth year at Indian River State College as a faculty member and is certified by the State of Florida to teach in the Golf Course Operations, Landscape and Horticulture Technology, and Public Administration fields. He is also the Director of the Golf Course Operation program. Mr. Platt received his Bachelors of Business Administration with a concentration in Golf Course Management from Methodist College and a Masters of Public Administration from Troy State University, and is currently working on graduate level courses in Soil and Water Science at University of Florida. Mr. Platt certified by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America in; Sustainable Landscape Design, The Mathematics of Golf Course Maintenance, Turfgrass Physiology, Insect Management for Warms Season Turfgrasses, and Disease Management for Warm Season Turfgrasses and holds a State of Florida Restricted-Use Pesticide Applicator License and the Limited Lawn and Ornamental License before entering teaching he held several management positions in the golf industry and owned his own landscape installation, maintenance, and landscape supply business.

James-ReapJames R. Reap, Associate Professor and Department Chair of Accounting at IRSC, received his B.S. degree in Accounting and an M.B.A. from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA. In addition, he has a Masters of Accounting degree from Nova Southeastern University and a C.P.A. license issued by the State of Florida. Prior to employment at IRSC, he taught at Wilkes University and worked in the accounting department at Owens-Illinois (Technoglas) in Pittston, PA.

Herbert-RicardoDr. Herbert P. Richardo of the Business Management Department received his Bachelors of Liberal Arts from Barry University, Masters in Business Administration degree from Nova Southeastern University and PhD from Capella University. Before entering teaching he worked in several management positions. His last position was Administrator for Fresenius Medical Care North America.
