Arnater M. Dowers, MPH, B.S. MT(ASCP)

Arnater-DowersMaster Instructor Arnater M. Dowers received her bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology form The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. She completed her internship at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, MS and has 20 years of experience working in various hospital clinical laboratories in Jackson, Mississippi and the Florida Treasure Coast. She was awarded her master’s degree in Public Health with and emphasis in Policy and Administration from Jackson State University. Arnater M. Dowers is the Clinical Coordinator for the Medical Laboratory Technology program and the Phlebotomy program. Prior to being selected as Faculty at Indian River State College, Arnater held several leadership positons within the hospital Clinical Laboratory departments.

Jennifer Savage, M.L.T. – Adjunct Faculty

Jennifer-SavageMrs. Jennifer Savage received her associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from Indian River State College. She has worked at various clinical laboratories throughout the Treasure Coast area. Her teaching career began at Indian River State College and she is now lead instructor in the Phlebotomy Technician Program. Mrs. Savage is on the advisory board of the Medical Assisting Program and the Medical Laboratory Technology Program. She has reviewed several textbooks in Phlebotomy and is actively involved in the profession by providing blood draw services for a food allergy laboratory. Instructor Savage has mentored and taught in the summer health science academy enabling high school students to receive their first credits in a health science program. Mrs. Savage was recognized as Indian River State College’s health science adjunct faculty of the year. She holds her MLT certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology and is licensed as a clinical laboratory technologist in the State of Florida.
