Agriculture / Aquaculture

Agriculture stands out as one of Florida’s signature industries, with aquaculture, the farming of marine products, the most rapidly growing sector. Today, all phases of agriculture, from research to production to marketing, demand skilled employees with the education and training needed to develop and apply technological advances.

If you complete an Associate in Arts Degree with at least a 2.0 GPA you are guaranteed university transfer, including the opportunity to transfer to the University of Florida College of Agriculture in Fort Pierce. Or, you can choose the Associate in Science Degree, with specializations in Aquaculture or Environmental Horticulture to prepare for employment or start your own business.

  • A.A. Degree — Complete your first two years of college at IRSC, and you’re guaranteed the right to transfer as a junior to a Bachelor’s program at a Florida state university — or continue to a Bachelor’s degree at IRSC.
  • A.S. Degree — Gain management and technical skills in many high-demand career fields, with the option to continue toward a Bachelor’s degree at IRSC.
  • Technical Certificates — Earn valuable Technical Certificates at the same time you’re completing an A.S. Degree — get double the value and additional credentials by completing these blocks of courses.
