As a dancer, you will use your body to communicate ideas, stories, rhythm and sound through many types of dance, including ballet, folk, ethnic, tap, jazz and modern. As a dance major in the Associate in Arts degree program you will be prepared for transfer to a university, with experience performing as a solo artist or in groups. You may also choose to teach or choreograph dances. Employment opportunities with national dance groups, opera companies, movie and television studios, gyms, amusement parks, and cruise ships will continue to be available.

Students interested in pursuing a degree in Theatre, Music or Dance should contact the Performing Arts Department prior to registering for classes due to audition requirements for certain classes and possible scholarship opportunities, 772-462-7727.
