If you want to make a real difference in people’s lives by caring for others who are ill, injured or disabled, then nursing is for you. IRSC provides a career ladder approach with various options for beginning a nursing career. As a nurse you will be in demand; nursing is expected to generate 3.2 million jobs by 2018 – more than any other industry. This is growth is fueled by growth and aging of the population, and the increasing need to care for elderly family members in long-term care facilities.

After several months of training you will be ready to become a Nursing Assistant providing basic nursing care in nursing homes, hospitals or private nursing homes. If you want to launch a nursing career quickly after about one year of study, practical nursing is for you. The A.S. Degree in Nursing program is a selective admissions program preparing you to become a registered nurse through classroom instruction and clinical experiences. As a registered nurse, you will be well qualified to provide compassionate patient care, and you will gain the satisfaction of helping others as a highly respected member of the healthcare team.

If you are already a registered nurse eager to advance to leadership and management positions, the Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing will provide you with a highly-valued credential.

The A.A. Degree in Nursing is a pre-nursing program focusing on general education and science courses.

  • A.A. Degree — Complete your first two years of college at IRSC, and you’re guaranteed the right to transfer as a junior to a Bachelor’s program at a Florida state university — or continue to a Bachelor’s degree at IRSC.
  • A.S. Degree — Gain management and technical skills in many high-demand career fields, with the option to continue toward a Bachelor’s degree at IRSC.
  • Bachelor's Degree — Increase your earning power and build on your Associate Degree with more than twenty 2+2 Bachelor’s Degree options at IRSC.
