IRSC Graduates Get Great Jobs

 Amanda-Sartain Amanda Sartain —
IRSC graduate Amanda Sartain believes that teachers can make a real difference in the lives of their students. Amanda received her Bachelor’s degree in Middle School Science in 2010 and works at NorthPort K-8 School. She was recognized with the FAST Award of Promise, as a new teacher who has demonstrated exceptional aptitude for teaching science.

 Demetrius-Lane Demetrius Lane —
Demetrius took advantage of the Educator Preparation Institute (EPI) at IRSC. He already held a Bachelor’s Degree, but wanted to move into teaching. He prepared for teacher certification through the EPI and is now a health teacher and the girls basketball head coach at Port St. Lucie High School. He was nominated in 2013 and 2014 for the St. Lucie County Distinguished Minority Teacher of the Year Award.

 Britani-Bryner Britani Bryner —
A lifelong resident of Okeechobee, Britani is now working as an 8th grade teacher at Yearling Middle School in Okeechobee where she enjoys inspiring young minds. She first earned her AA Degree at IRSC and then her Bachelor of Science Degree in Middle School Mathematics.

 Jackie-Zakarian Jackie Zakarian —
A mother of five girls, Jackie Zakarian always wanted to work with children - she dreamed of making science practical and real for middle school students. Jackie earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Middle School Science and is now a 9th grade science teacher at the Freshman Learning Center in Vero Beach.

 Makeda-Brome Makeda Brome —
Makeda is one of the College’s first students to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Makeda made such an outstanding impression during her teaching internship at Lincoln Park Academy that she was offered a position teaching International Baccalaureate pre-calculus classes.
