Where are we located?
An Academic Support Center is located at each IRSC campus.
Who do we serve?
- Anyone enrolled in college at Indian River State College.
- Anyone wanting to upgrade skills for college entry, job entry, or self-improvement.
- High school graduates preparing for entry into one of IRSC's career or certificate programs.
- Students enrolled in the After-School Academic Support program.
What services do we provide?
- Instructors:
English, reading, math, and science -- diagnostic/prescriptive work based on appropriate assessments, specific assignments based on reading instructors' referrals, and support for daily assignments.
Health Occupations -- HOBET/LPN/NLN handouts available on request, drug calculation assistance, diagnostic prescriptive work based on Diagnosis of Gaps in Science (primarily for health occupations program entry), and biology review for anatomy and physiology.
- Videos:
Video-assisted instruction for English, math, science, and ACT/SAT.
- Computers:
Computer-assisted instruction in reading, English, math, science (biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy, and physiology), and health occupation courses; word processing, spread sheet, data base, and ACT/SAT skill preparation.
- Special Needs Equipment:
JAWS (Job Access With Speech) program and Open Book computer reading machine for visually-impaired students.
No appointments are necessary -- stop by any time we are open.
