2015 Season Subscriptions on Sale Now
The Indian River State College Performing and Visual Arts Department 2015-16 season of shows, concerts and musical theater offers audiences memorable performances and an incredible value. Subscriptions for the seven-show series are on sale now. The series subscription is just $70. Individual tickets without a subscription will $15 and go on sale September 8.
Included in the seven-show McAlpin Onstage series this season are a memorable musical, dramatic plays, holiday fun, music, dance and romantic comedy that the audience will love and laugh with. With shows like “Frankenstein,” “Home for the Holidays,” the musical “Peter Pan” and more, this year’s season offers a variety of performances sure to entertain and inspire.
The OnStage season kicks-off October 22 with Victor Gialanella’s adaptation of Mary Shelley’s novel “Frankenstein.” This dramatic production supports the IRSC Library project, “One Book, One College.” The IRSC Library has selected Mary Shelley’s book, “Frankenstein; or the Modern Prometheus” to invite IRSC faculty, staff, students and community participants to read the classic novel and participate in various interdisciplinary activities at IRSC exploring the book’s many questions, themes and images.
The complete seven-show season includes: the play “Frankenstein” October 22-24; the “Dance Ensemble Showcase,” November 5-7; a variety concert featuring the IRSC Company Singers, Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo “That’s Entertainment!,” November 19-21; the holiday concert “Home for the Holidays,” December 3-5; the musical “Peter Pan,” February 11-14 and 19-20, a second variety concert “In the Mood!,” March 3-5 and the romantic comedy “Fox on the Fairway,” March 31-April 2.
Additional shows this season not a part of the series include: the IRSC Fall Choir Concert, “The Many Cultures of Music,” December 7; the original Wynne Black Box Theatre production by Professor Dave Moberg “Christmas Doesn’t Love Me Anymore,” December 11 and 12; as well as the “IRSC Choir and Wind Ensemble in Concert,” April 10.
