    STUART, FL—Clark Advanced Learning Center math and science instructor, Barry Bicksler, is one of 20 teachers labeled “best of the best” vying for Martin County Teacher of the Year. Bicksler was selected by his peers for this outstanding recognition, which is presented by the Education Foundation of Martin County in cooperation with the Martin County School District in an effort to recognize outstanding teaching.

  • Indian River State College Celebrates Graduates on December 16 & 17

    FORT PIERCE, FL—Indian River State College (IRSC) will hold its fall Commencement ceremonies “drive-in”-style on Wednesday, December 16, at the College’s Treasure Coast Public Safety Training Complex in Fort Pierce, and virtually via YouTube on Thursday, December 17. The ceremonies will recognize the accomplishments of the College’s 2020 graduates, including some 1,700 students who have earned their Bachelor’s and Associate degrees during the 2020 summer and fall semesters. IRSC President, Dr. Timothy Moore, will deliver the keynote address.

  • Indian River State College Hosts F.B.I. Threat Assessment Exercise

    FORT PIERCE, FL—Law enforcement professionals from a dozen agencies gathered at the Treasure Coast Public Safety Training Complex at IRSC for a two-day workshop with trainers from the F.B.I. Academy in Quantico, Virginia. These workshops were conducted in support of the FBI's national Threat Assessment and Threat Management initiative. Members of the agency’s Critical Incident Response Group conducted the seminar, which illuminated the science behind offender and victim behaviors, pre- and post- crime.

  • IRSC Biological Sciences Undergraduate Symposium

    Indian River State College (IRSC) Biological Sciences hosted its Undergraduate Research Symposium at the Kight Center for Emerging Technologies on Friday, December 4. The symposium, which takes place every semester, gives graduating senior biology students the opportunity to present their research to the College community.
