First Year Experience Program
The First Year Experience (FYE) Program helps first-time, degree-seeking students adjust to college life. With support for academics, personal growth, and student involvement, the program offers workshops, events, and one-on-one guidance from a Peer Leader—an upper-level college student who provides guidance navigating college life. This program helps students build a strong foundation for their college journey and future success.

Student Leadership Programs
The River Pathways program is a free student leadership opportunity at Indian River State College designed to help students build valuable skills for success. Through various paths focused on career readiness, community service, digital literacy, and leadership development, students gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and the tools they need to thrive professionally.
Students have the flexibility to complete one or more paths of their choosing in 2 years or less. In return, they earn cord(s) for graduation, certificates of completion, and a letter of recommendation from the Associate Vice President of Student Life!

FL-SARA Complaint Process
All students are encouraged to work through the Ombudsman/Student Advocate and the internal complaint and appeal process provided by Indian River State College. However, if students feel further investigation is warranted, they can contact The Florida Department of Education at https://www.fldoe.org/schools/higher-ed/fl-college-system/about-us/concerns-complaints.stml.
Distance Education students who have completed an applicable internal institutional grievance process and applicable state grievance process may also appeal non-instructional complaints to the FL-SARA PRDEC Council.
