Tutoring and Writing Assistance
IRSC students can receive free online tutoring and academic support services for most subjects 24 hours a day, seven days a week. On-site and online assistance is available through the IRSC Academic Support Center and 24/7 online academic tutoring is available through services such as Smarthinking.
Microsoft Office 365
One great perk of being an IRSC student is that you get up to five (5) free downloads of Office365! That means you can download Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneDrive on many of the computers you use for your school work.
Virtual Campus Orientation
Virtual Campus Orientation, VCO1000, is an optional course that gives students hands-on practice inside Blackboard. So don’t fret if you’ve never taken an online course. In VCO1000 you’ll learn how to navigate the online learning environment at IRSC.
Virtual Connections Club
IRSC Virtual Campus students are invited to join the Virtual Connections Club, a unique opportunity to become more involved in co-curricular activities through a variety of engaging online activities and events to based on student interests. Virtual Connections strives to improve the social and academic development of online students, as well as provides meaningful ways to encourage online collaboration and interactivity.
Distance Learning Fee
All internet courses have a Distance Learning Fee (non-refundable) in addition to matriculation, tuition and registration. This fee is $5.00/ per credit or per 30 clock hours.
All IRSC Virtual Campus classes will have at least one proctored exam. This exam will be proctored online by Honorlock, which is a remote proctoring service. A desktop computer or laptop with a working webcam and microphone will be required in all online classes. Review the Honorlock Information for Students page to ensure your equipment is compatible, and for additional Honorlock details.
Virtual Campus students must have continual access to a computer and to the internet. Low-income families can apply for Comcast Internet Essentials to bring high-speed internet to their homes.
Virtual Campus students should plan on a minimum of three hours of study time per week for each credit hour.
